Teddy bear ornamental sunflower, also known as beautiful sunflower, is an annual herbaceous plant of the family Asteraceae and native to North America. Its flower shape is like the sun, the flowers are bright, the colors are bright, simple and natural, and have high ornamental value.

Ornamental sunflowers are photophilic flowers and require sufficient sunlight throughout their growth and development period. The stems and leaves grow vigorously, the flowers are brightly colored, and the tongue-shaped flowers are shiny.

The suitable temperature for the growth of teddy bear ornamental sunflowers is 21-27°C during the day and 10-16°C at night. The temperature difference between 8 and 10°C is most beneficial to the growth of stems and leaves. When cultivated in the open field, the root system is relatively developed and resistant to drought. Watering is not much in spring. Supplementary watering is only needed in early summer when the temperature rises and water evaporation is large.

Sowing Guide:
1. Seed selection process: Select seeds with full particles and uniform size.
2. Germination treatment: Wrap the seeds with wet cloth and spray water frequently. They will germinate in two or three days. Plant after germination.
3. Prepare the soil: The soil should be soft, breathable, and fertile. This soil environment is conducive to germination.
4. Plant into the soil: Insert the seeds into the soil with the pointed end facing downwards. After planting, cover the seeds with soil and spray water.

Breeding method:
Mainly propagated by sowing. Sowing can be done year-round as needed. If flowers are used in May, sow seeds in February-March; if flowers are used in October, sow seeds are sown in August. The optimum temperature for germination is 21-24`}C. Holes are commonly used for sowing in the open field, and seeding trays are used for on-demand sowing. Germination occurs 7 to 10 days after sowing. The germination rate is 80% to 90%. Taking potted inoculated seeds as an example, it takes 50 to 60 days from sowing to flowering.

Cultivation management:
Fertilize once a month during the growth period. If you want to watch the flower bed, you can top it once. The branches can produce 4 to 5 flowers. Potted plants should not be branched and should have single flowers. Ornamental sunflowers are cultivated in the open field, and the illumination time is long, and they often bloom slightly early; while when they are cultivated in greenhouses in winter, the illumination time is short, and flowering is delayed.

Harvest processing:
Cut flowers should be cut when the flowers are almost fully open. The vase life in water or preservative can reach 7 to 10 days. Cut flowers can be stored at 2 to 5°C for about 7 days.
